Adding the Ender 3 V3 profile to Cura

Follow these steps in order. Screenshots below are simplified illustrations of the relevant Cura screens to help you locate each option quickly — your exact layout may vary slightly by Cura version.

    Open the Cura slicing application

    Launch Ultimaker Cura on your computer. If this is your first time opening it, complete the initial welcome screens until you reach the main workspace.

    Open printer management

    From the top toolbar, select the printer name dropdown, then choose Manage Printers. This opens the Printers tab inside Preferences.

    Add or select the Ender 3 V3

    Click Add Printer. Choose Creality from the manufacturer list, then select Ender-3 V3 from the model list. If your Cura release already lists it by default, simply select it.

    Import the profile file

    Open Preferences → Profiles, then click Import. Browse to the profile file you obtained and select it to add it to your profile list.

    Select the imported profile

    In the right-hand print settings panel, open the profile dropdown near the top and choose the newly imported Ender 3 V3 profile so its values are applied to your current project.

    Confirm build plate size and slice

    Double-check that the build volume shown in Cura matches your printer, load your model, and click Slice. Review the preview before sending the file to your printer.

Tip: After slicing, always verify estimated print time and filament use in the preview panel before starting a long print — this quickly reveals whether a setting was applied incorrectly.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

The Ender 3 V3 is not in my manufacturer list

Update Cura to a current release, which expands built-in Creality printer definitions. Alternatively, add a generic custom printer and set the build volume manually before importing the profile.

The imported profile does not appear as an option

Confirm the imported file matches the currently selected printer. Cura only lists profiles associated with the active printer definition.

First layer still looks uneven

The profile sets a reasonable baseline, but bed leveling and nozzle-to-plate distance still depend on your physical printer and should be checked directly.

Print settings look reset after a Cura update

Re-select the profile from the dropdown after major updates, since some releases reset the active profile to the manufacturer default.
